Hello All!

So…where shall I begin???? Oh! Well, you know how some people give advice about sunscreen and all that jazz?!!? Nah! My advice: pack early…which is advice that I should have followed on Thursday. All day Thursday, I ran errands (bank, mall, nail salon, train station, etc.) before returning to my house at 7pm and realizing that I was leaving for the airport in 10 hours and still had not packed anything. With help from P. Ryce, Hardik, Hayley and several freak outs, I finished packing and headed to Dulles. Second piece of advice: CHECK IN ONLINE! Seriously, the quickest check-in I’ve ever had. I was finished with 15 min. of getting to the airport while those other suckers were still waiting in line, haha!

Dulles to London (Heathrow) was fine…window seat, slept most of the way, the cheese omelet was good, but (and this is for Mr. Hardik “Boeing” Dalal), my tv didn’t work! I missed Wild Hogs AND The Holiday. Sadness, but I did read Bono’s Africa issue of Vanity Fair, which is phenomenal! If you want to see Africa at its classiest, sexiest, most swankified, pick up this issue!

Got to Heathrow…10 HOUR lay-over.

Met Donatella from northern Italia, near Milano and Turin. She was on her way to Detroit to spend the summer with her boyfriend.

After being kicked out of the terminal, going to customs, being kicked out of Starducks, discussions of how airports suck, language barriers, the euro, scary old men, and anxious “sleep,” we finally made it back to terminal 4, and I got on my plane to Geneve at 6:10am.

Reached Geneve in one piece…my luggage did not.

Made it to the hotel…my room’s not ready.

Went to sit at a café…no one speaks English.

EEK! Can I say at that point I was ready to cry, but I didn’t, I stayed strong.

I had some excellent café, got a phone card, found a grocery store, got my room, met my roomie (Lexi), took a nap, went to dinner, had a beer on Lake Geneve (no open container violation laws), almost crashed a party (I need to sign up for Geneve Online and print my profile!), AND my luggage arrived.

Thank Jesus! And this was all day one…

  1. I work on the body of the plane, not the electrical systems. I can't believe you just blast me like that.

Was it Donatella Versace? Because if it was she was on her way to see me.

Sounds like you are having too much fun!
